| You've convinced me: this first episode was absolutely charming and sweet. Ishimori fought back a bit by spraying his bullies with soda, and Miura's intervention to help was very much appreciated. The odd detail of everyone having yellow eyes (probably related to the series title) is intriguing, and the character designs are appealing, making me think that all the students in Ishimori's class will get their moment in the spotlight. |

| Oh, I just know this is gonna be super cute. I'd read a lot of recommendations for this one in the shoujou subbreddit, and it didn't disappoint. I already love the two leads together. And I relate to her so much, it hurts. Not going outside of your bubble, just coasting along, not wanting to cause trouble, not standing up for yourself. I was crying with her! When she sprayed the honey lemon soda on the bullies, I cheered so much😭🥳. You go, girl! |

| It seems the manga is serialized in Ribbon - a comic magazine for elementary to junior high school girls. The magazine celebrates its 70th(!) anniversary this year. Is this the most popular title that commemorates the anniversary? It feels kind of mediocre. (well, it's for little girls, and maybe adults should not complain about it.) |

| Nice to have a new shoujo anime this season, to me really it’s just romance but this exact type is one I get an itch for, and I think the last time that was scratched for me was “A Condition Called Love”, and I see that one getting shit in this thread, personally I liked that one a lot but this is looking even more promising form the start, it has really nice art and ost, and I think I’m really gonna like how Uka and Kai’s relationship develops from how this first episode went down, Uka is a beautiful babe too. Yeah I will admit it was a bit cheesy, those bullies were basically textbook and were just mean for no reason pretty much, but I did like seeing them get blasted by Uka’s lemon soda lol, I wish we could have seen them drenched but it was still a great moment, and it was also the start of Uka changing herself for the better, I think they did a good job in the short time in making you feel for her, I can imagine how terrible she felt that her past was coming back to haunt her, but thankfully she’s got Kai to help her overcome it, although I did think the way he walked her through saying words was kinda odd, but these handsome husbandos of shoujo anime are usually not completely normal lol. And the OP and ED both by &TEAM were really good, fun songs with great vibes, loved the visuals as well. And from here I’ll be wondering how the “Lemon Soda” becomes “Honey Lemon Soda”, the school is called Hachimitsu so maybe that’s it lol. |

| One of the most beautiful pilot episodes of anime, seriously. Was so excited for this to come out, and when the episode finally did, loved every second of it. Can't wait for more! |
| Poor Ishimori getting bullied. I have trouble getting in her head space though. I am not sure if it's just how the story is being told or I just don't relate as much to that kind of bullying. I am not sure what I feel about Miura's personality right now. He's not very nice but he is kind and I've not had good experiences with these type of people in real life. |

| I'm not a fan of the whole trope going on here (cool boy saves reserved girl from bullies and they fall in love) cus I swear I see it everywhere, and so far this is kind of underwhelming and boring. I was getting a little annoyed with Uka for just standing there and not saying anything, but I understand that she's the way that she is because she was bullied, and I was pleasantly surprised when she poured soda on them cus I originally thought she was just gonna give the soda to Kai. the animation is good, and I enjoyed the OP and ED since they're pretty fun and visually pleasing. I really wanna warm up to this anime so that the eye candy isn't the only thing I end up liking about it |

| not very fond of this mc... don't think is a problem with the "shy that struggle with normal socialization" trope... I remember some very enjoyable characters like that, that I can relate and get happy when they overcome even what looks minor obstacles (like Sawako from Kimi ni Todoke) maybe is a presentation thing... like, they start by showing her happy with minimal interaction (like the girl asking if she is allright after the soda bath)... and also being weirdly happy about being splashed with soda by that guy specifically... and only after that we learn that she is shy and struggle with normal interactions... but immediately went to the heavy stuff with bullies, and being all super dramatic about... I feel like it could use a little more time establishing things, so when she stand out for herself against the bullies, I could be more invested on her struggle... instead, I'm just a little annoyed with the over drama but will give a chance anyway... let's hope it have better pace with development |

| The eyes of Uka are bothering me, but other than that the character designs aren't too bad. I like the ED song too, it's exactly the type of song I hoped for. Usually I'd enjoy this type of casual show during a Summer season, but this Winter isn't too bombastic in terms of what's coming out, so I should be able to fit this on some day of the week. |

| Your typical shy girl and cool/popular guy shoujo trope and I'm all for it. First episode is pretty decent, Uka deciding to enroll on the high school instead of her first choice because a total stranger named kai helped her on the streets after she was bullied by her classmate. That's a pretty insane decision to choose that school. The OP and ED themes are very catchy but I do like the OP more. I guess we'll get to see how Uka's personality and confidence progress throughout the season. |

| I had read the manga about half a year ago and was still stuck at chapter 14 because I didn't really like the male lead. Decided to watch the anime in hopes that I could change my mind and continue reading. The FL is a sweet girl though, as well as Ayumi. I never understood where the fun is in bullying other people. Like, it just looks so lame. Their level is so low that they have to drag others to be "below" them so that they don't become the lowest. In fact, they are already the lowest of the low. Pathetic. Shameful. These bullies are only embarrassing themselves. Anyway, the OP is bright and fresh like a mix between spring and summer... very "honey lemon soda" (don't know if that makes sense) but honestly I like it. The ED is fun and cute! I like both. |

| I was looking forward to this but a bit disappointed with the production. Visuals looking a bit off sometimes. Also tired of the cliche bully story, but I am liking Uka-Miura already so I hope we've get the annoying part out of the way this episode and there's more focus on the couple for the next episodes. |
| This was probably one of the most corny first episodes of a romance anime I've ever watched. I'll give it another two episodes but man the tropes were annoying af. Think the only thing I really liked was that the MC actually took action against the bullies, but unfortunately that was followed immediately by the stupid scene of the male MC making her ask for help instead of letting her follow through. |

| Some of the comments here confuse me... Wasn't Uka already considering going to Hachimitsu high school before she even met Kai? Honey Lemon Soda has been in my TBR for a while but I might have to bump it up after this episode!! Aside from the bullying, it was very wholesome. I can't wait to see how Uka will develop going forward, especially since she really seems to want to change already. The visuals were stunning to me, thankfully! I'm not super picky when it comes to animation but I'm tired of these shows getting the short end of the stick (RIP Hananoi). OP & ED were also very nice, definitely prefer the latter. | I wanna drop this anime, wow it's another one those Hananoi-kun to Koi no Yamai, skip and loafer type. Man I was fooled and I am not into such romance where the girl protagonist has no will of her own. |
| It just felt... bland. Nothing about it stood out, from the art, to the characters, to the story. None of it was particularly bad, it just doesn't have anything unique going for it so far. I'll give it some time due to how people rave about the manga, but I'm pretty disappointed after episode 1. |

| The curse is gone thanks to "The Lemon Soda" I quite liked the first episode. Ishimori is very pretty, let's see how her school life will be from now on. The opening and ending are very good.      |
